West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority is committed to the principle of equal opportunities and equal treatment for all employees, regardless of the protected characteristics they share or their personal circumstances.
The report provides a comprehensive review of our Gender Pay Gap. We are proud that the gap is less than the national average, however, like many organizations we have a way to go. We are however confident that the organisation’s gender pay gap does not stem from paying men and women differently for the same or equivalent work. Rather its gender pay gap is the result of the roles in which men and women work within the organisation and the salaries that these roles attract.
We will report on an annual basis what we are doing to reduce the gender pay gap and the progress we make. The figures found in the following report were calculated using the standard methodologies from the Equality Act 2010 (Gender Pay Gap Information) Regulations 2017.
