If you are considering your event at home, make sure you let your neighbors know so that they can prepare themselves or their pets appropriately.

  • Throw fireworks into the fire.
  • Leave the bonfire unattended, even for a short while.

Do...

  • Think carefully about where you place your bonfire, how you will keep it under control, and how you'll ensure family and friends are safe around flames.
  • Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby in case of emergencies.
  • Keep children and pets away from the bonfire.
