Building fire - Riverside Estate, Shipley
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Fire crews were called to reports of a building fire on Riverside Estate, Shipley just after 5pm yesterday. Upon arrival a fire was discovered on the first floor of the property. Firefighters tackled the fire under difficult conditions due to the building being heavily smoke logged and the poor conditions faced in the derelict property. Thorough search of the building was carried out to establish that no people were in the building. Appliances from across the region were in attendance throughout the night. Fire investigation officers confirmed the cause to be deliberate ignition. Crews left the scene just before 9am this morning.”

10 appliances are in attendance with specialist support units including aerial appliance.
Residents local to the area are advised to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke from the fire.
