A "MOO-ving" rescue in Keighley
A newborn calf had to be rescued by our firefighters after falling five metres down a slope.
We were called to a farm in Keighley just hours after the calf was born.
The calf had slipped and had fallen down the slope into open water.
Firefighters from Cleckheaton’s Technical Rescue Team (TRT) used their expertise, specialist animal rescue techniques and equipment to rescue the calf and bring the animal back to safety.
After a welfare check, the calf was then swiftly returned to its distressed mother.
Both mum and calf were reunited, and both were returned safe and sound to the barn.
Well done team!
