The awards, now in their 10th year, celebrate the achievements of the fire and emergency services. Chief Fire Officers, their teams, industry supporters, suppliers and front-line firefighters come together to celebrate the work of brigades, teams and individuals who have really made a difference.
2024 saw the WYFRS shortlisted in 9 of the 17 categories, our greatest collective achievement in the EFE Awards since they commenced.
Deputy Chief Fire Officer Dave Walton hosted Service colleagues at the event; “I am immensely proud to have hosted so many of our WYFRS team at this years’ EFE Awards; A bumper year in short listed nominations highlights not only those individuals and teams by name - but champions the whole Service on the national stage.
“I want to extend my congratulations and support to our Control Room Team and Youth Interventions Team as winners in ‘Innovation of the Year’ and ‘Team of the Year’ respectively. It is a momentous achievement in anyone’s career to be recognise at a national level for their dedication and contribution to public service, and I know everyone will join me in celebrating their successes.
“Where we did not win in the categories, we were worthy runner’s up to our national colleagues and return with pride and smiles from being able to recognise all we have achieved as a Service in making West Yorkshire safer.”
