Meltham Fire Station

Meltham Fire Station is situated five miles west of Huddersfield and the village, with a population of approximately 8,000, is approximately 250 metres above sea level.  

The fire station, built in 1954, is situated in the centre of the village and is on the edge of the Peak District having the potential for serious wildfires. The local industry comprises of a range a light engineering and textiles.

The station is managed by a station commander who is also responsible for Holmfirth and Skelmanthorpe Fire Stations.

The fire station at Meltham is one of the village focal points, with the station and crew taking part in many activities through the year. At such events the crew are always available for fire safety and general fire protection advice helping to keep the risk in the area very low.
